“A lot of parents will do anything for their kids except let them be themselves.” Banksy. A quote said by Banksy explains that parenting today is parents being so consumed in their kid’s life instead of letting them be themselves. Parents these days are always getting in their kids business and not letting their kids do things themselves because they are so concerned with the image their child portrays to others and so they live up to their parents standards. Instead of this being the effect, children are becoming more lazy and spoiled. (Exordium) Imagine always getting your way, having your parents get you out of punishments. Although this is true, it does not need to be an extreme need for them to do what they want with their child’s life. There is a difference between not wanting your kids to do certain things and your kids doing things because you want them to. According to Helicopter Parenting Is Really A Symptom Of Underparenting: “Children had higher academic achievement in later years when a parent stayed home with them into childhood.” Although this may be true, home schooling in our society today is not a popular thing. (Pronoun to include audience) Kids today are going to public or private schools to get education instead of being home schooled. More parents are also working instead of being stay at home parents and are busier then normal which makes it hard for them to stay at home and give their kids that one on one schooling. Although their may be benefits of parents being over involved, in the long run it mostly changes kids for the worst instead of making their life better like they thought it
