The daughter only has been told that she has some sort of unusual anemia, which could cause her to have mistaken beliefs concerning her condition. With the daughter being diagnosed with acute leukemia, this type of cancer can progress quickly, and if not treated, would probably be fatal within a few months. She needs to be able to discuss with the physician and mom about what she can do for further treatments and her plans. As the physician, he must consider what is in his patient's best interest, not just what is in the decision maker's best interest.
