Therefore, these are some tips so you can have your children experience video games in a healthy way. The first tip is to pay attention to ESRB Ratings, they are there for a reason. Now if you do not know what these are, well then they are just like movie ratings, they give a general consensus on what that age group that game is best suited for. Rated E games are games everyone can play, rated T means its best suited for people 13 years and older, and Rated M is for mature audiences which means you should be 17 years or older in order to play that game. Those three ratings are the main Ratings there are, a few more exist but those are situational. These ratings are important, however, just like movie ratings they are there as guides. Ultimately it is up to you whether your child should play that game. While its recommended you wait until your child is older to introduce them to rated M and sometimes rated T games, it is really just up to when you believe your child is mentally ready to handle the themes introduced in these M and T rated games.
