The Academy I’ve never been normal. My parents always said I was special, because I have a very difficult personality to love and am too sarcastic for my own good. I was never the most popular person in the world or, for that matter, well liked. I had my group of friends, but I still felt like an outcast. I’m not normal and I am much more special than I ever thought I was. I have magic running through my veins. My powers showed up when I turned 14. I have read books about the powers that I have, but I have never been able to figure out what exactly I am. So I just studied the individual powers instead of them as a whole. We packed up everything that I could possibly need. Mom said that I would need some workout clothes because the outdoor classes are intense, so it would be good to have a lot of different options for the different seasons. I also need so normal clothes for my other classes, and some fancy clothes because they host dances and other things like such.
We could hear my dad down in the kitchen talking on the phone “Alright, sounds good. Thanks.” He hung up the phone and came upstairs to tell us what the school said. “Everything is set.”
“Oh my gosh! I am so excited. This is great, I get to go to my dream school! I can’t believe it.” The expression changed on my dad’s face. He crossed his arms and leaned against the door frame. “What is it dad? What’s wrong?”
He straightened his posture, “I’m happy for you shortie, but I just don’t know how the other creatures are going to react to you. We can’t even figure out how exactly how your magic works and we don’t know what to even categorize your powers under. And we don’t know how

“It’s okay dad. I know the risks. But I have to go, this is the only place that I can be myself and walk around with a ball of water over my head if I feel like it. And I know that you just want to protect me, but I have to go and hopefully everything will be fine. I will go there, and we will unpack all of my stuff and me and my roommate will be best friends and everything will be perfect.”
“I know Lex, I just don’t want anything bad to happen to you. You’ve never been around creatures before and we don’t know how they will react. I want you to go. We just want you to be extremely careful. Right, Mary?” He asked my mother.
My moms head popped out of the closet were she was packing up clothes. “Of course Jack. All we want is to make sure that you are somewhere that is safe and you are protected.”
My face lit up with a smile. “I love you guys so

All my life I had heard about a great monsters who used to roam The Great Plains in Texas, but none of the stories matched the monster I had found. I lived in a small quaint house right outside of a town in the middle of the Texas Plains. Most of the townsfolk were superstitious. It was about a five minute walk from our house we rented to the beach, which really felt like five hours because I was really excited. Once we FINALLY got there my friends and I decided to take our shoes off and find a perfect spot in the white hot sand to set up of chairs and umbrella. We took our clothes off because our swim suits were underneath and sprinted to the clear blue ocean.…

The sun began to rise on a beautiful Saturday morning in my hometown of Danghara, Tajikistan. It was a day off from school, but I woke up early, before everyone else in my family. I took a seat at our kitchen table and got a few balls of qurut, or curdled, salted yogurt balls, my favorite breakfast meal. As I sank my teeth into the meal, I watched the sun rise slowly over the horizon. It indeed was a beautiful day.…
