Creative Writing: The Fight Against The Nuinhi

“…Don’t bow down to those who wish to do us harm! For too long we have sat back, and let ourselves be stepped on. It is time to stand up. Stand up and fight against the Nuinhi.” That is the first thing I hear when I entered the town’s main square one sundown. When I looked I saw a large group of people dressed in a deep purple robes with silver masks covering their upper faces, only their mouths in chins were revealed.
They stood spread out amongst the small crowd that had formed. At the front, there was what appeared to be a girl making a grand speech. She wore no mask. She kept her face visible for everyone to see. She was at least twenty with short brown hair, she had sharp brown eyes.
As she spoke the crowd was silent. Everyone one enraptured be her words. I felt myself being drawn in by her words. For the first time in my life I can feel a sense of power run

The rest of the soldiers started to come after us, swinging their weapons to drive us away. I turned and ran back towards my home, rushing inside. My mother nearly dropped her book when I came barreling in.

“Stop!” Mom had finally managed to interrupt me. “Do you know how dangerous just speaking of them is? They are not the first group to do this, and they won’t be the last. I will not have you risking life and limb with those degenerates!”
“But Mom! This is important. I can make a difference.”
“Allen, enough! You are fifteen. You will not get mixed into this mess. Worry about your own life first” With that said she stood and walked into the kitchen.
I whirled around and stomped my way to my room. I didn’t understand how my mom could just sit back and let people die. I couldn’t let it end here. I needed to convince my mom to let me do
