Narrative Essay About Going Back To School

Going Back to School I had attempted and failed three times to go back to college and obtain my degree. Each time I made this attempt I failed for one reason or another. One of the reasons that I was not successful in the past was inadequate support. On another attempt, I fell ill and had to withdraw. The final attempt was not successful due to family problems. I put my education plan on hold for ten years, and then I made the decision that it was time to get it done.
Decision Making Process
The decision to go back to college and obtain my degree was made when I realized that I could not advance any further with my career without a degree. My goals were not obtainable without an Associate’s Degree in Accounting. I had set the goal to take the CPA exam, and to become an Enrolled Agent within three years. This was the first stage in the decision making process. I had identified and diagnosed my problem. I had to then weigh my options.
The second stage was to generate alternative solutions to my problem. I had many choices. I could stay in the position that I currently held, knowing there was not going to be an opportunity to advance. I could change my work field completely, and start over in a new field.
