When I first set my to go back to school, I told myself, it makes no sense going back to school if you’re not going to give 100% into everything that you do once you step foot on the campus that you choose to involve yourself with. To me it makes no sense accepting a position or a role that people depend greatly on your ability if you yourself don’t plan to 1) give them your all 2) enter that position with a pure heart and mind, with no ulterior motive, and 3) being able to take that position and grow from it. Every job I have accepted or every role I have committed myself to on this campus I always strive to complete these three goals. When you come from a country where no one expects much from you, it’s bound to produce a few citizens who …show more content…
Everyone has a past and mine may not be unique, but it is my own path that has shaped and molded me into the woman many people look at everyday. I walk around as if my head is in the clouds, appearing not to care much about what is going on around me, and letting people come up with there own conclusion of me. This has been my strategy of getting through life for the past few years. I am an observer, a dreamer and a thinker. I ruffle the feathers I need to and make my moves as necessary, never being to greedy in my steps. I saw all of this to give you a sense of who Roniqua really is on a deeper level. I am the person to give you what I analytically think you need, but when needed to be more than anyone needs, a leader, that is who I am through and …show more content…

I looked at the expectations of my bosses and the current Head Resident. I evaluated my surrounds thoroughly and determined that nothing was going to come between me and this position. I determined that there is a way to gain the trust of your co workers so that they feel comfortable with talking to you, even when other people don’t know about it and there is a way to put your foot down and be the leader that they need. I also evaluated the residents and determined what kind of village they were and they are some pretty eccentric people. My motive for this position is to create an atmosphere of home away from with in Mashburn Hall. To take that spine that connects our schools offices and make it more than a metaphor, but a reality. So, remaining focused on keeping professional and personal worlds separate and manageable is the bane I (like my other classmates) share and must remain cognizant of.…

Through my experience, my freshman and sophomore years as a musician were terrifying. On top of the shock of the new atmosphere at school, I had to play my instrument with and in front of others, which was quite a stretch for me at the time.
