Colton Thune

Starting my project was somewhat difficult because I had a hard time choosing a topic. I knew I wanted to do something that expressed myself, but I did not know what to focus on. Eventually I came up with the idea to come up with a recipe and cook it. My favorite types of food are italian and mexican. I decided mexican, because there is more of a variety of options and types of foods. I started off with the base and core ingredients that are used to make enchiladas, and then I added some to make it my own. I even researched different types of herbs and spices that would mix well together in a mexican dish. I also wanted my enchiladas to be healthy, because my health is

Enchiladas and Missing Spatulas I am Hispanic, and believed that making enchiladas would be a breeze, it was not. It was rather hard and extremely messy. There was red chili sauce all over, and I was scolded more than a few times by my mother, bless her soul. We made both green and red enchiladas. I will admit that we cheated on the green ones because my mom didn’t remember how to make the sauce.…

Common Health Problems in Laramie County and State Comparison Laramie County has several health-related issues shown in the statistics provided by the Laramie County Comprehensive Needs Assessment. The two major health problems that I am choosing to analyze include obesity and heart disease. When comparing Laramie County’s health problems to the state average, the data will better direct and individual when exploring if the problem is specifically linked to Laramie County. Understanding the problems will ultimately allow a person to create an effective strategy to solve or diminish the problem. Obesity Laramie County’s obesity rate is 28% of the population and Wyoming’s obesity rate of 25%; it is clear, Laramie County’s statistics show room for improvement (2015).…

In the beginning, I wasn’t fond of beer, but after the project I found that I enjoyed beer more when paired with foods that I enjoy. I learned that different beers bring out and complement different flavors in food, for example, if you want to complement the flavor in a beer then you will match a key flavor found in the beer with a key flavor found in the food you wish to pair with. This rule generally follows the wine rule which is light with light and dark with dark. So a dark beer would pair with a heavier item such as a steak and a light beer would pair with a lighter item such as pasta. One of my favorite pairings in this project would have to be pairing the Drake's Hopocalypse DIPA with the caramel cheesecake.…
