I had no clear goals for life or my career. After I started working at Hastings Middle School, I received the suggestion to continue pursuing my teaching licensure in the area of special education. My work experience as a paraprofessional and the encouragement of others has created a spark to work with students with special needs. My coworkers and supervisors encouraged me to seek my teaching license because I work well with students who struggle. I am patient with them and able to explain things so that they can understand them. After much reflection from conversations with various colleges, including my aunt who is a special education teacher, I have decided to set out on the adventure of becoming a special education teacher. As a special education teacher, I will have a job that I will be passionate about, enjoy, and be excited to get up for in the morning. I will be able to make a difference in the lives of my students, their families, the community, and the world. This will allow me to meet my life goal, which is to make a difference in the lives of others and make the world a better
