In Vietnam’s educational system, elementary school is from the first to fifth grade, middle school is from sixth to ninth, and high school is from tenth to twelfth grade. The four-year middle school was the most memorable time. During that time, I had my first date, made a lot of great friends, and decided on my future career of a programmer. I want to become a programmer who will innovate a new computer system better than Microsoft Windows or a new social network greater than Facebook. And when I retire, I will have a foundation of my own, giving 90% of my wealth to charity. Mark Zuckerberg is truly an exceptional human being for all the changes he brings to this world using his natural ability of intellect as a computer genius, his implementation in creating Facebook and his perseverance in protecting Facebook from all the threats. In my opinion, an exceptional human being must have something that is totally different, superior to others and he or she has to have skills to carry out and protect his or her idea, the idea that could change people’s lives around the world. Zuckerberg fits perfectly in these criteria. Mark Zuckerberg is undoubtedly a computer genius. Being a Harvard student is a dream to many students, but to Zuckerberg, it’s not even the spotlight in his profile. He has been famous for his coding skills before he attends Harvard. Zuckerberg was not the first person to come up with the idea of creating a site for people to go online and interact with their real-life friends. Friendster, houseSYSTEM and Universal House Facebook are Web sites built on similar ideas, but none of them had received attention from users. However, the Facebook, the name which Zuckerberg calls his site, is different, as Mezrich noted, “Mark’s idea was really different. It was about moving your real social network onto the Web” (80). The ideas may be similar, but the way one approaches it and implements it will create the difference between an ordinary idea and an extraordinary idea. As Frank Arnold wrote about Steve Jobs, a well-known innovator,“ what makes him truly innovative is not that he is the first person to come up with ideas, but rather that he is the first one to implement them” (73). Zuckerberg carried out his plan of creating the Facebook perfectly. He worked whole-heartedly for the next four months, skipped most of his classes for total concentration on his site.
