Through depicting real life situations, Metlife displays to the audience their understanding of people stricken with poverty in the world. In the start of the video, the girl is shown writing of many instances in life of how amazing her dad is. When those same scenes are shown again, the negative parts of those instances in life are shown. Those negative scenes show the struggles of a young father trying to provide for his young daughter. The music forces the audience to feel sympathy for the father. Closer to the last scenes of the video, the music becomes louder, more climatic, and hopeful (02:15-02:40). The music emphasizes the girl’s statement of, “He lies...because of me” (02:15-02:20).
