During the televised trial, the prosecutor stated “Dr. Murray was motivated by the $150,000 per month he was being paid by Jackson . . .”(Telegraph) Since Mr. Jackson paid Murray a large amount of money, whatever Jackson needed, Murray felt obligated to please him. They also claimed that Jackson called propofol his “milk”. This showed how dependent Jackson was on the drug. It made him feel stronger like milk helps humans have stronger bones. During the televised trial the prosecutor’s witnesses Dr. Steven Shafer, an expert in propofol, explained in full detail “the drug should never be used to treat insomnia” (BBC).
