Dr. Makkar has expressed an interest in participating in the Multi-Disciplinary Thoracic Clinic.
Background:
To participate, Dr. Makkar is asking for payment to keep him “whole.”
Summit Pulmonology participates at Barberton and are payed as an extension of their Medical Group Critical Care contract. I appears they are payed approximately 2.5 hours per pay period to cover the 5 hours per month of clinic time. The subsequent procedures (broncoscopy) are billed through their practice.
Dr. Makkar indicated that Unity would be concerned if their patients were referred to the Clinic and seen by the Medical Group’s Pulmonary Physicians.
Dr. Makkar can participate in the Clinic currently and bill the patients seen through his private
