Observation 2

A) Date & Location: September 26, 2012. Mt.SAC Campus B) North determined by IPhone App C) Altitude: 47 degrees D) Azimuth: 133 degrees E)
After the 2nd observation, it had only increased by 1 degree, and then had increased from the 3rd observation to the 4th by 11 degrees, and the last increase from the 4th observation to the 5th by 13 degrees, just as the altitude had done. The moons altitude from the 1st observation to the last observation had decreased by 15 degrees, and the moons azimuth had increased by 13 degrees. The azimuth’s compass direction moved East to West from the first observation to the last observation.
7) The moons rise time always ended up later each day than the previous rise time. The first observation of the moon rise time was 3:24 p.m., and the second day of moon rise time was 4:40 p.m., there was an increase of 1 hour and 24 minutes. The moon rose later from the second observation to the third observation by 1 hour and 5 minutes, rising at 5:45 p.m. From the third observation to the fourth observation, the moon rose later by 1 hour and 5 minutes just as the previous observation had. On the last observation from the fourth observation to the fifth, the moon rose later by 1 hour and 11 minutes. In total, the moon rose later from the first observation to the last by 4 hours and 37 minutes difference.
8) By doing this project I have learned that there many different patterns for which the moon rises, how it looks on a day to day basis, and how these attributes affect the visibility
