1. Based on your knowledge of the major personality theories, why would an employer elect to use character profiles in the interviewing process?
According to, to Miserandino (2012), "our personality is what makes us who we are." Miserandino further added, in a nutshell, our nature can be considered our "individual differences and similarities." To detect the differences and similarities in employees, Miserandino added, in the interviewing process employers uses personality profiling to share insights into the job applicant's personalities. Some companies use this information to select, train and monitoring their employee's performance. Also, companies also use personality profiling to determine how a person with certain characteristic will likely to behave during their employment.
Using personality profiling assessment also helps businesses to reduces turnover rates. To reduces turnover rates, employers would test employees level of integrity, differences and similarities. Employers that are successful in using personality profiling usually have a successfully modified character model in place before using personality profiles assessment. This model is designed to work with the personality assessment. (pp. 3-93)

This means that as a long as the person administering the test prohibits, his or herself from engaging in any form of "discrimination based on race, colour, religion sex or national origin the test is ethical." So, yes I believe that personality assessments are moral if it presents equal opportunity to all. I also believed that if personality assessments profiling is used to show the absence of advantage to equality for certain groups, it should be considered illegal and unethical.
