Military Brats face many hardships that people often don't see or hear about because frankly, what does it really have to do with us? Things such as social interactions and going home to their family can become challenging or even scary to those children who are young in age, and while there are some plus sides to being raised in the military such as versatility, learning how to become a great cook by the age of seven, and even the ability to dive into the many cultures the world has to offer the cons can often outweigh the pros in the struggle to maintain a healthy mental lifestyle for these children. For the most part, birth is the only thing that will link the beginning of someones life with that of a military child. Upon birth most military children tend to have a medical issue, whether it be as severe as missing a limb or being deaf, or having ADHD and Autism, military children are at greater risk for all of these diseases/disorders. This is caused mainly by one factor and that is stress, most women that are married in the military experience great amounts of stress throughout their day, they gain these stress issues mainly from worrying about their spouses, or having to take care of everything in/out of the house because the spouse is always away on duty. This type of stressor will increase significantly when the spouse goes on deployment. As the child grows older they are constantly moving around. Depending on where they are born/raised for the first eight months to two years of life they will experience only that social interaction of their parent(s) or are able to grow up in a close nite military community with many friends that are just like them. The older these children get the more they are moved around, many by the age of eight could have lived in nine different places! Moving depends on the job and rank of the parent in the
