She has made me realize that courage is more than just a word. Courage, is the ability to do something that frightens you and to never give up. She has opened my eyes to the fact that helping others is more rewarding than it seems. I believe that her acts of moral courage have already influenced me and have changed my views on the simple things such as volunteering. For example, my best friend happens to have type 1 diabetes and we are trying to raise awareness of this disease, as well as, support newly diagnosed diabetic children. I have seen the way these people have to live and it is everything but easy. I have been inspired to help and show them that they are not alone. To reassure them, to let them know that they should never lose hope, and to guide them through this fight. Recently, I have also been involved in a local food bank where we made and passed out over 100 baskets to families in need. Now, after hearing Miep’s story, I would love to do even more things like this! Miep has definitely influenced my
