The Jews and the others were able to use the power of love to pummel all the inner hate and anger in themselves. In (Document C) we can see an example of this when Syvia risks her cover to get her sister Dora some food. “…I reach up and grasp the pear…I am about to run back, when I spot another pear on the tree… I think of Dora, and I grab it, then turn and run…” We also see another example of love in (Document A) “… And we all are hungry. But there is not enough food for dinner. Mother does not eat her meal. She gives it to me instead. She does not say “I love you” in hugs or kisses, but her love fills up my plate, and I gobble it up.” From this document you can see that love can neutralize feelings of hate and anger, it helps keep you at a state of jubilation and contentment at rough times. Laughter is just as important as the authority of love, laughter seems to lighten up or brighten the environment around you. This allows you to feel a permanent amount of peace during rough sailings. We see the magic of laughter in (Document C) [A Snowman] “Arschloch!” Papa yelped. “Liesel give me some of that snow. A whole bucket!” “For a few minutes, they all …show more content…
They were only humans, playing in the snow, in a house.’’ We can also spot the conviviality of laughter in (Document A) “Dora came home from work in a bad mood. Mother and Papa are tired. I miss my real doll… Papa says Mother is a noble woman. He tells me, “From pain your mother gave you life, through pain she continues to give.” I think about Papa’s words as I finish my broth. It hurt Mama to give me life? Why? Didn’t I just pop out of her belly button... Then they all burst into laughter, Papa, Dora, even Mother. “Syvia, you are a tonic for helping us forget our pain,” says Papa, and they all smile at me. Their love fills the air around me, and I gulp it down. In both the documents we see laughter stunting all the negative and absorbing all the positive. Nature helps you reduce all the stress you feel at a particular situation. Something like listening to the water can make you feel more relaxed. You can find nature everywhere in the world whether you are in a war or a utopia. This is one of the methods the Jews and others probably exploited to keep their pride at such a tough time. We can see nature at work in (Document D) [Comfort for Every Sorrow] “…I looked out of the open window too, over a large area of Amsterdam, over all the roofs and on to the horizon, which was such a pale blue that it was hard to see
