Merit Pay Program: Rewarding Exceptional Employee

I have chosen to select the merit pay program, as it is the standard method when using the pay for performance method. This method is based on objective appraisal in order for it to be a true demonstration of its purpose, which is rewarding exceptional employee performance. Other factors can also contribute to the way in which increases are awarded; these include explanatory circumstances such as illness and family responsibilities. As the leader of my department, my budget is $5,780 for salary increases to be distributed appropriately to five employees. My first employee being evaluated is Janet Jenkins. She currently earns $41,000 a year. Her performance appraisal was very high and she is viewed as an asset to the group. Based on the merit
