At the age of 21, Wollstonecraft left her family because of her abusive father and her mother's death. At the age of 25, she established a school in Newington Green along with her friends. After teaching countless students for the next three years, she wrote a pamphlet about her experience and her perspective of her students. After the death of Wollstonecraft's best friend, she went to Ireland to teach a Kingsborough family. Soon she realized that she was not fit to work what women are typically supposed to work in. She publishes her own book called >Vindication of the Rights of Woman< in 1792. She wanted to show society her hatred and disgusted feelings towards their views of women: a helpless housewife who inferior to men and seen as objects who must obey their commands. Wollstonecraft wanted to point out that if women had the same opportunities as men in terms of education, they wouldn't be seen as an object. Women became like how they were at that time because society taught women to be the less important gender and incapable of doing any work besides housework. The ten Boom family were devoted into Calvinism and believed that everyone is equal and should serve society, offer hospitality, and assist anyone that is in need of help to the best of their abilities. At the age of 30, Corrie ten Boom received a license to create watches making her the first women to obtain the watchmaker license. In 1940, after World War II began, Jewish people were being hunted down by Nazis and the ten Boom family used their house to hide Jewish refugees. They built a secret room inside Corrie ten Boom's bedroom which was disguised as a wall. The ten Boom family risked their lives to save many Jewish lives during this period. Corrie ten Boom was appointed to be the leader of the movement and organize a network of shelters for Jewish refugees to hide. However, on February 28, 1944, the ten Boom family's house was raided by the Nazi police due to a leaked information of their activities. The entire ten Boom family were arrested, but the Nazi Police were not able to find the six Jewish refugees that were hidden in the secret room. Corrie ten Boom was released while her father and sister died while they were imprisoned.
