I think there should be a life skills class added to the curriculum. A life skills class would be good because it would help teach kids how to react in case of an emergency, it would teach people how to cope with grief, and it would teach people how to react and deal with everyday life situations.

The first thing a life skills class would help teach people is how to react in case of an emergency. There are many different emergencies that can occur at anytime to anyone. From someone choking on their lunch, to a car accident, emergencies happen

I had a little trouble in redesigning the lesson plan since I had little understanding of what was required but I hope I did it correctly. I have included in the new lesson plan opportunities for students to become globally aware and live within the capabilities of the digital world (Burnaford & Brown, 2014, p.2.3).” Even with the difficulties in redesigning the lesson plan I believe it will now equip the students with the needs 21st century skills. One thing I realized is that students must not only prepare for future work and education, but also for their civic role in the world around. Each one of these components – school, career and life - is equally significant to shaping a student’s successful future (Burnaford & Brown, 2014, p.2.3).…

Major disasters like 9/11 and the Boston Marathon Bombing, initiates a crisis event that triggers a response by actors across the spectrum of society, such as government and private sector entities, nonprofit organizations, and citizen volunteers, to converge on the crisis event with goals of mitigating any active threats, stabilizing the scene, and saving lives. Hospitals are also vital to the response effort, as they have the capacity to treat life threatening conditions, in order to…

Since a wide curriculum is prefered over a deep and rigorous one, the natural conclusion is that the school needs to look outside the standard four or five core subjects. Schools look to introductory courses in world languages, computer applications, consumer sciences, and industrial arts. It seems most students are bombarded with the question of what career they are interested in as soon as they enter high school. Exploratory classes might be the last chance some students have to still sample different subjects before having to choose schedules in high school. Although junior high schools could provide exploratory classes, it is especially important to the middle school design.…

It is important to develop skills that will not only improve your life but also your college life experience. Upon looking at the General Education Competencies that appears on the class syllabus, I decided on which skills are most important to develop in my humble opinion. One skill for example, that I find particularly essential is the ability to research and examine information, resources, and evidence that are both for academic use and those that are not necessarily for academic use. My reasoning is that, being able to have evidential support to what you are stating is critical since what you say typically follows you for the rest of your life.…

Every parent raises their child a certain way and there are multiple different parenting styles that parents normally choose from or do without realizing. Raising your children in a way that will not teach them how to take care of themselves as adults will affect their futures more than you would think (Lalicon). If a child is not taught how to do certain housework throughout their childhood, they might never learn how to do it themselves, especially if their parents do everything for them. Schools could very easily fix this issue. Throwing a class about life into a student’s schedule will benefit them immensely, particularly if they are stuck in the parents not teaching them these skills situations.…
