There are as many different opinions of leadership just as there are traits that distinguish leaders from subordinates. Currently research has shifted from traditional trait or personality-based theories to a situation theory. A situation theory is where leadership skills and leader characteristics are based on the (Amanchukwu, Stanley, & Ololube, 2015). All current theories can fall under one of the following three viewpoints: leadership as a process or relationship, leadership as a combination of traits or personality characteristics, or leadership as certain behaviors or, as they are more commonly referred to, leadership skills. The main theories of leadership, shows that leadership is a process that involves a group impact of people towards real goals (Amanchukwu, Stanley, & Ololube, 2015). It is my …show more content…
Behaviors leadership skills may or may not be innate but can definitely be learned like any other behavior. This leadership theory focuses on the actions of leaders not on intellectual qualities or internal states. According to the behavioral theory, people can learn to become leaders through training and observation. The interest in the behavior of leaders has been encouraged by a regular comparison of autocratic and democratic leadership styles (Amanchukwu, Stanley, & Ololube, 2015). Autocratically led groups will function admirably as long as the leader is present. Group members have a tendency to be troubled with the leadership style and express antagonistic feeling. Democratically led groups do nearly as well as the autocratic group. Group members have more positive emotions, be that as it may, and no antagonistic atmosphere. In particular, the endeavors of gathering individuals proceed notwithstanding when the pioneer is missing. This is the one of the reason I believe that transformational leadership style is preferred over the behavioral leadership
