I hope to be a leader someday and that is why I chose to discuss a theory of leadership that is appealing to me. After reading about the ten different types of leadership theories, I feel that the Situation Theory of Leadership is the one that appeals to me most. Professor and author Paul Hersey and leadership trainer Ken Blanchard developed the situational theory of leadership during the early 1980’s. The fundamental idea of the situational leadership model is that there is no single “best” style of leadership.

Firstly, the importance given for a leader to have an adaptable and flexible working nature was an aspect that was not stressed as much in the other theories.
