Leaders develop their own personal and distinctive style for leading and managing people. Similar to leaders, organizations have their own unique culture shaped by norms, values, and rules that may influence how leaders choose their style for leading and managing people. Although each leadership style has their advantages and disadvantages, effective leaders acutely and consciously distinguish the various leadership styles that affect how conducive the workplace environment is. Further, effective transformational leadership behaviors develop trust among their employees. Trust is developed by a leader’s ethical behavior, their communication of attainable goals that motivate employees, encourage employees to view issues from new perspectives, coach their employees, and show concern for their employees’ needs and welfare (Asencio & Mujkic, 2016). In sum, transformational leadership behaviors focus on motivating employees to work towards organizational objectives with integrity and inspire employees to look beyond individual interests and focus on the interests and needs of the team. The revolution of integrating transformational style behaviors into the division appears to show an uplift in workplace morale. Specifically, over the last few years, vast improvements were noted in the annual employee viewpoint survey. Explicitly, survey questions that addressed employee engagement behavior increased regarding the way that the employees rated how they felt their work was valuable, how they are respected as individuals, and how much they can trust their supervisors, to name a few. These increases in the viewpoint survey were illustrated at all levels of management. Most likely, the principle contributing factor to the increased survey scores can be attributed to the transformational leadership behaviors that many senior and lower level management exhibited. These leaders developed and sold the vision, and injected inspiration and enthusiasm that led to finding new forward ways of doing things and continued to build and nurture
