1. What issue am I interested in researching? (remember, your topic MUST be from the perspective of leadership or the organization)
In my research I plan to address the issues that concern leadership style. How different leadership styles and traits provide stability within the organizational culture. The use of different leadership styles means that leaders are flexible from one shift to another. “New research suggests that the most effective executives use a collection of distinct leadership styles – each in the right measures, at just the right time. Such flexibility is tough to put into action, but it pays off in performance.” (Goleman, 2000)
2. Why do I want to research this issue?

What key words should I use to search for scholarly literature, and where will I search?
I plan to look at the Peirce College library website to search for scholarly literature. I will also search Google search to find resources as well. Some key word I will use in my search will be: Leadership style, Leadership traits, Effective Leadership, Learned leadership, Leadership topics, Leadership Bias, and most effective leader in style.
4. Where might I conduct a study (possibly interview or survey participants)?
Since I work in a hospital setting, I could possibly interview, as well as, conduct a survey with different managers and employees from different departments within the health system. I would interview the managers to see how they view themselves as a leader. Do they feel confident that their team will follow them at upholding the vision of the organization? What the manager fails to be truth in regards to the work relationship with staff, may not translate the same way from staff. I would do a survey with employees. It could give me a true understanding of what the staff really feels about their manager without the backlash.

Affiliative leaders believe in the “People come first”. (Goleman, 2000). Leaders who practice this style strives to inspire ideas and drives up flexibility and trust. Bias is difficult to correct, due to, people are not typically aware of their implicit assumptions. They strive to keep employees happy and create an environment where employee will produce. I will minimize my personal bias by observing other managers who demonstrates more authoritative behaviors. I will observe the actions of the other managers, take note of their personal characteristic, and compare them with my own characteristics. I would utilize those traits to quickly respond, be more accurate in my decision
