Donald Trump is one of America’s billionaires and newly elected president. Trump portrays profound leadership abilities as the chairman and president of the Trump Organization, who has managed many sky scrapers, business offices, hotels, casinos, and golf courses. (Bio) As a businessman and soon to be commander in chief, Trump displays the team management category of the behavioral theory the best. Trump displays qualities from the transactional and transformational leadership theory, along with the situational theory and many adaptive leadership characteristics. The Marginal grid is a visual representation of management styles broken up into two axes, ‘X’ measuring the concern for results or the mission and ‘Y’ measuring the concern for the people, two exceptionally important factors in the military and in business. The theory is best divided into five categories: Country club management- which is a high concern for people and a low concern for results, Produce or Perish management- is on the other side of the spectrum with a high concern for results and a low concern for people, the worst form of management is listed as Impoverished Management- which is a low concern for people and results, followed by the Middle of the Road Management- which is an equal concern for both people and results, but not yet meeting the standard and the best form of management is Team Management- which has a high concern for people and results, the target style for every leader.
