The main key philosophies of counseling professions are wellness, resilience, and prevention, which provide counselors the ability to evaluate, to form a connection between the concept and understanding of ideas, and to provide growth and wellness to develop a treatment plan for each clients. Wellness, resilience, and prevention are the three key philosophies that are constantly evolving as the years go by. According to Myers and Sweeney (2008), wellness is the paradigm for counseling that provides several strength-based solutions to limit dysfunction and increase growth in every aspect of the client. How an individual feel is the core foundation of how they act and react to any situation. A wellness website define emotional wellness as the heart represents the general source of emotions, for instance the mind /brain as a symbol for rational thought ("Emotional Wellness | Wellness Initiative | University of Nebraska–Lincoln," n.d.). Counselors evaluate a person’s emotional wellness by observing their balance of their live: work, friends, and happiness. It is important that counselors have a clear understanding of an individual’s self-efficacy. Newman and Newman (2015) defined self-efficacy as a person’s sense of confidence that he or she can perform the behaviors demanded in a specific situation. Knowing what level of confidence a person have, will let the counselors know if they need encourage more self-esteem activities. For children, divorce can have a very stressful, sad, and confusing influence on them. At any age, kids may feel uncertain or angry at the idea of mother and father separating, especially if the parents choose to date other people. The child does not want another individual to try and take their biological parents place. Each parent should make the process of the separation and its effects less painful by helping Ashley cope with divorce means providing stability in the home and attending to Ashley's needs with a reassuring, positive attitude.
