The two main creatures that are shown throughout the movie are the Sargorns which are giant winged lizard creatures, and the Keepers which are smaller, shorter, and more classic alien-looking species. This movie also contains some very high-tech weapons, spaceships, and medical advancements that should be included in a sci-fi

Since the noun is separated from its adjective, she suggests that Virgil strategically placed it there to keep up Jupiter’s reputation of being savage. She uses both the Latin language and Virgil’s ways of narrating as her own evidence for this, which makes it more believable to audiences; even audiences with little Latin…

Teachers have a rather difficult job. Before beginning a lesson, a teacher must take into account the comprehension levels and learning styles of students, as well as the amount of time he or she has to cover the material. When it comes to literature units, such as the drama A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry, there are often movies to go along with the readings; in this case, the book was made into a movie, directed by Kenny Leon. Teachers must decide whether showing the movie will enhance or impede a student’s understanding of the play. In both the book and movie versions of A Raisin in the Sun, an impoverished African American family is living in Southside Chicago in the 1950’s.…

Many years and film adaptations have passed since the publishing of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s roaring twenties masterpiece, The Great Gatsby. Director Jack Clayton brought the novel to the big screen in 1974 with Robert Redford playing the title character, while in 2013 Director Baz Luhrmann brought his vision to life, casting Leonardo DiCaprio as the much coveted ‘Gatsby.’ Although fans will find much to appreciate in both directors’ adaptations, Luhrmann’s film will likely be judged by most modern moviegoers as superior to Clayton’s based on the spot-on casting of ‘Gatsby’ and the impeccable, highly-stylized production design. Suitable casting is a major stepping stone to any film, especially if you cast the wrong person for a role it could throw the film's entire dynamic off. Fortunately Luhrmann knew it was a key element to its commercial and critical success, that is what made him outdone himself in this film.…

One of modern society’s favourite pastimes is watching and comparing films. Films have the ability to make us laugh, cry, or even think while touching our hearts no matter what the genre is. Contemporary media genres have dramatically changed since classical literary times, which divided theatrical and literature into groups of drama and comedy, giving birth to genres. Films have become difficult to place into a specific genre, as “any theme may appear in any genre” (Chandler 1997, p. 1) resulting in genres blending continuously. For example, a Science Fiction (Sci-Fi) film is classified in that genre due to its situational context and fundamental plot, though, Sci-Fi films may also be categorised into genres such as horror (Aliens), comedy…
