Treasure Island, a novel written in 1883 by Robert Louis Stevenson, was adapted into a family friendly movie by Disney in 2002 called Treasure Planet. Despite the names, there are many other differences that set the two apart. Treasure Island’s vivid theme, plot, setting, and list of characters was much more superior than that of Treasure Planet. Most of the characters from the novel remain in the film version but have been altered in some way. The others are simply absent. Jim Hawkins and Long John Silver remain as the main focus. Long John Silver was originally a one-legged sailor who lost his leg fighting for his country but was adapted to a one-legged cyborg who had lost his leg chasing his dreams. In Treasure Island he was accompanied by a Parrot whom he named after Captain Flint, but in Treasure Planet he was accompanied by a shapeshifter called Moorph. Dr. Livesey was altered in many ways. Paper Towns: Book vs Movie I’ve chosen to write about the differences between the book Paper Towns and the movie, basically what they didn’t include and what they changed in the film adaption. Personally I would say that I prefer the book before the movie, because the book is obviously more detailed and you get to read about the character's backstory and get to know them better. The author, who co-produced the film, made a video on youtube where he talked about the fact that the movie will be like the book but at the same time it will not.…

In “The Landlady”, Billy Weaver is lured into a seemingly normal bed and breakfast by an old lady who, despite her gentle and unthreatening appearance, wants to kill him. It is a story about how those with cruel intent may take advantage of those who are innocent and naive. Although the book and the movie can be arguably similar if generalized, there are many differences that may change the way a reader/viewer may grasp the concept of the story. Since a movie and book cannot be exactly the same, the film version is bound to have things that differ from the text. One example of how the book develops the development of the story is with the setting.…
