Baedon Gilbert-Williams: The difference between aerobic power and anaerobic power is; aerobic is with oxygen, activities are less demanding, and for example would be like someone going on a bike ride on a flat surface where they would maintain their effort and level of energy being used. Overall, aerobic power means lighter exercise where your level of energy remains the same throughout the exercise. Anaerobic power means; without oxygen, activities that are more demanding, and for example, an exercise would be someone going on a bike ride but up hills and a lot faster which requires them to change the level of energy and effort being used. To work on the anaerobic system, you would have to up the intensity of the same exercise and constantly changed the amount of energy and effort throughout the …show more content…
Jonah Hopkins: The Wingate test is a valid measurement of ATP/PCr energy pathways. Considering the test requires individuals to produce maximum amount of power over short period (30 seconds) this directly measures their anaerobic metabolism. Muscles are only able to store small amounts of ATP but allow the body to move in short powerful movements. ATP is readily available but is depleted after a few seconds. ATP is then formed by breaking down PC to create a few more seconds of energy. The Wingate test is measured in 5 second intervals which displays the body’s ability to produce maximum power output within the first 5-10 seconds and begins to slow down substantially after 15 seconds. This test directly measures Peak Power, Relative Power and Anaerobic Fatigue index, all factors that measure an athletes ATP/PCr energy
