In the period between the two wars, Europe's economies have lost much blood and far below historical growth data(Ritschl and Straumann 2010). Europe's economic development and integration was cut and reorganized by two world wars, and its regional order was brutally distorted by war, destruction, immigration and borders(Eloranta and Harrison 2015). The First World War led to a sharp decline in global trade followed by the end of the gold standards of an international currency system and the initiation of protectionism and isolation policies.
