On September 11, 2001, there was a terrorist attack where an airplane crashed into the Twin Towers in New York killing thousands of Lives. The disaster of 9/11 has affected many citizens in the way they see the United States if it is a safe country to live in. The tragedy of 9/11 impacted Americans and Terrorist lives. Ever since 9/11 happened security has changed, especially in the airport because laws became strict on what you can take or not take on an airplane and racial profiling.

After 9/11 congress right away started to make changes in the airport to make America feel safe again. When two months passed off the attack, congress passed the Aviation and Transportation security act, which it created the Transportation Security administration ( Villemez 1). What the Aviation and Transportation security do is they are able to do a procedure where they are able to scan people's luggage (Villemez 1). The Aviation and Transportation security act brought such a safe vibe to Americans because, for example, anyone can take a bomb in their luggage and with the act, they can prevent an incident from happening again. In the article “ 9/11 to now” by Jason Villemez, states how the airport has changed since 9/11. After, 9/11 happened there have been private security companies at the airports to check if there's any unusual thing occurring (Villemez 1). After 9/11 happened they started to change the machines and introduced scanners to scan for weapons that can bring any harm. By introducing new advanced machines/scanners it brought such a drastic change in security because, for example, there are people that think that they can still take whatever they want on a plane like before 9/11, but since the new machines/scanners are able to detect metal or any hidden foreign object can stop someone from making another drastic …show more content…
