I also was raised in the LDS church or the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Being born part black and a Mormon brought many stereotypes and opposition. In society, it is believed to be unusual for an African American to be a Mormon, let alone be very successful. I grew up ignorant of these stereotypes and prejudice thoughts that others had of me. I was brought up in my faith and my parents taught me to strive for greatness and success. As I became older, however, my ignorance began to fade and I became more and more aware of what was going
