When you “sell your clothes and keep your thought,” it is easier to reflect on what is happening. At Walden, Thoreau was able to think without the distraction of all of his belongings. Similarly, going without a phone also forces you to think. Walden’s words are still relevant to life today as now more than ever it is important to take a break from phones to actually think. At camp, decisions are made without phones and conversations with people happen, which is lost when phones are used.
