The Importance of Education in Children
The author of Source II states that education of children is the most important concept as nowhere are the stakes higher, these children will become the future. The author takes the view that the collective should take responsibility to pay more towards education in order to ensure the future. Furthermore, she/he believes that the government must spend more towards education, resulting in less spending elsewhere, directly affecting the public. Despite the immediate costs, the long term result is well worth the investment and thus this collectivist ideological perspective should be fully embraced. Education is a basic right, children must already commit to school until they are a minimum of sixteen years old in Canada and the United States. The fact that it is a right implies that there is a great deal of importance in educating the mind and so students are entitled to the best education available. On the other hand, some individuals believe that only bare education is a necessity, enough to read and write. This argument states that once given these skills, if the children are so inclined, they will be able to educated themselves and develop themselves into powerhouses of intellect. However, all children need a guiding hand to help them achieve their goals and lead the way by helping them make the right decisions and educating them further.
