The thoughts we have about education have mostly been wrong. We think of education as being an equal institute for all children to blossom in and reach their full potential, but in reality this is nowhere near the truth. The children of the executive elite parents in very high level positions, such a hedge fund traders and managers, private equity associates and executives, venture capitalists, investment bankers, chief executive officers, specialist surgeons, law firm owners and partners and business owners. These working class children do not receive any legacies from their parents and usually if they do attend college with financial aid; if they fail any of their classes than they will have to pay fully out of pocket for their education. Almost all of these working class children cannot afford these types of expenses, which means having to pay for a college class they did not pass which causes these students to have to work extra hours to pay for those classes without receiving any college credit. Working additional hours also takes more time away from students who most likely are not doing that well in their classes to have even less time to study when retaking a class which can cause a major pattern that is commonly seen in generational poverty. This is one of the main and most common reasons children in working class schools and neighborhoods have almost no comparison compared to the quality of life and education received by the nation’s elite children.
