The Importance Of Education In Education

Another year has come and the past and yet again Nevada has made its presence known; but not in the way it wants. Nevada, as keeping in tradition, has for the third year in the row ranked last among all states and Washington DC in education. Now this won 't come as a surprise to many, with the lackluster funding, and scandal that continuously define Nevada 's education system. Yet nevertheless, this isn 't the kind of news Nevadans want to hear. And with the current debate over Core Curriculum, and the several education-related initiatives on this year 's 2016 ballot; the conversation over education has never been so relevant. As a recent graduate from the Nevada public education system, I experienced firsthand how inefficient are school system is; and I attended one of the better schools in the area. Nevertheless, I witnessed just how poor the quality of education being taught in any class that wasn 't AP or Honors was. In fact, I have several friends that didn 't even graduate high school due to the educational disenfranchisement present in our schools. Which is why this issue is so important to me. As a Nevadan, born and raised, I cringe to see my state fall so low.
