To successful implement its business-level strategy, at the functional level, Lululemon must continue to produce products with superior design and functionality, properly train employees, achieve excellent customer responsiveness, and effectively market its products so that customers believe their offerings are the best. Prior to 2017, Lululemon successfully differentiated itself from competitors by offering a large array of pattern and designs. This increased its appeal, allowing them to successfully implement their business-level strategy. However, in early 2017, Lululemon strayed from the bold, attractive designs that distinguished it from its competitors, resulting in a lackluster first-quarter.
