Giotto was especially known for observing the natural world and being able to replicate it into his own art. Through his pieces of work, he would create the people to convey emotion through gestures. He inspired many western painters through his works of art because they now were focusing on the visible world instead of the spiritual world. The piece of art Madonna Enthroned, which took place in the Church of Ognissanti Florence, was created by Giotto during the proto-renaissance period. During the High Italian Renaissance, Jan Van Eyck created Arnolfini Wedding Portrait. This wedding portrait was to be created to show a couple in their bedroom. There are many symbols that show the daily routine of the couple and how this could relate to others in Europe. They are in the bedroom and the wife looks almost like she is pregnant which is a symbol that they are supposed to have a family.
