The Americans took it a step further, by adding cost effectiveness to Personnel management and establishing the American Society for Personnel Administration to help the country organize its labour-management problems, hence the birth of modern HRM. In 1989, the Society changed its name to Strategic Human Resource Management (SHRM), and since then other countries have emulated this HRM system and their policies only adapting it to fit their country’s culture and environment differences.
The role and influence of HRM has grown, and changed dramatically adapting to changes and requirements of the Political, Social, Economic, Legal and technology of the environment it finds itself and still evolving in a dynamic way. Most organizations are realizing the importance of personnel management in achieving company goals, the communication between employer and employee is as vital as that between the company and its customers.
