It’s Going To Be OK “High school will be the best four years of your life!” Lie. High school has proven to be the best and worst four years of my existence. It has been an emotional rollercoaster. As every freshman when I first entered Hebron High School in fall of 2012, I was eager to finally be out of middle school finally enter the last part of schooling. Unfortunately, I didn’t know that this was just the beginning to the worst milestone in my life. My mother had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer in October 2011, and my life has been a constant roller coaster ever since. I was in 8th grade at the time, and everyday after school was a back and forth trip to the hospital for 75% of the time, while the other 25% was spent by her side and watching over her. My mother had taught me about my beautiful religion, and the love I had to be a Muslim was all because of her. I started MSA in the middle of my sophomore year, and there was so much that can be done with this. And because of MSA I met one of the most influential person in my life who I like to acknowledge as my sister from another mister; Zara. Zara was on the board of her MSA at her university. She invited me to one of the their events, and helped me branch out by talking to College students while still in high school, and not just helping me get ready for college, but also find a way for me to still show my love for our beautiful religion, and still succeed in the real world. Eventually I got our MSA to work with the other MSA’s in the DFW area, whether they were high schools or

Looking back on it, on how I got to where I am. I don't know how i did it, when you run into something ,with the power to knock you down- you get back up! I've considered myself a sort of mellow guy, but I can be very intense. It's funny because you can't tell by looking at me. Most people say they can't read me, but I think i am a fairly simple guy.…

Someone once said, "Suffer the pain of discipline or suffer the pain of regret." This essentially means that discipline will be difficult to manage but it’s a finer choice than regretting your decisions later on. School can be difficult, but the pain of the self-command and devotion will get you much further in your education than lackadaisical and deprecate. It seems to me that future freshmen with a hard work ethic and commitment should attend Early College High School because it saves the student time, money and you provides a safe atmosphere with a supportive audience. Not only is Early College High School a free program…

Growing up I was always the tallest kid in the class. Whenever class picture day rolled around, I knew that I was in the front of the line because of my height. It was somewhat embarrassing when all the boys were shorter than I, and the girls made me feel bad for how out of place I was. Not only did my height provide social awkwardness, it also administered the constant, never ending struggle of finding garments long enough. Whenever my mom or grandmothers wanted to take me back to school shopping, I made excuses of “I don’t need any more habiliments” or “I do not feel good, all of the sudden…”…

My high school experience at High Point High School began as frustrating then it became positive. Being academically independent, since elementary school, I did not feel that high school was going to be a major difference, but I did not take into consideration of a new ambiance with new challenges. One thing that remained the same was the fact that I was always reserved and I stayed to myself. I thought that in high school I was going to be able to leave my shell and be more outgoing. I was wrong, I am still shy and still quiet, but high school did teach me valuable concepts that I will carry on through college.…

There was an aura about the dirty park gazebo that felt like home for an angry fourteen year old. In a circle, backs pressed against cement walls, sweaty arms stuck together, was a group of kids that I found would be my family. The ground below us was covered with shards of glass and miscellaneous remnants from the night before as if to mark our territory with trash. It was a shabby old building, covered in graffiti, and it was dark after nine. But to a crowd of brooding teenagers, it was a bunker inside of a warzone: high school.…

They say a person’s mind is their limit, so with a great mentality, anything is accomplishable. The transition to high school shattered the confidence and perfect self image I built in middle school. My grades plummeted like the stock market in 1929 and I panicked like the world was collapsing. However, I managed to hold myself together because I knew there was always going to be a tomorrow and I needed to be prepared for it. As my peers were doing well, I on the other hand, was not looking so relaxed.…

I knew at a young age that I wanted to attend a university. When I was in kindergarten, my dream was to become a doctor. During career week at my elementary school several parents came into the classroom and spoke about their careers. Several of the parents stressed the importance of doing well in school, going to college, and obtaining a degree. I did not fully understand what this all meant at the age of four, but this idea of attending a university after high school was something I would hear multiple times in my life.…
