Growing up I was set to believe that high school was going to be difficult for me , and many of my teachers had their doubts that I couldn't move up to the 9th grade. During my years in middle school were possibly the funnest years of my life, but I knew I only had three years till things got really serious. Keeping up with school and focusing on getting into college was all that was told to be on your mind. Many thought I wasn't prepared because of how I acted in the classroom and how I behaved. Having fun and being with my friends was all that had been on my mind. But with that being said I had solid grades and I did that was told to me by my teachers. The lack of faith had gotten to me and it soon became an issue to where I had been doubting myself in certain situations. …show more content…
As 8th grade came to an inconclusive end I was ready to begin the next chapter in my life. Most things said by teachers were partially true such as high school was going to be more fast paced and more individualized but it wasn't something that I couldn't handle. When all the doubt and the negativity got to me it only made me more aware and more focused , to be doubted and to be judged as a person is something everyone should want because it's something to be taken personally. Just as in middle school maintained good grades and stood above the requirements I needed to in my classrooms. I still had times where I made things funny and joked but to a certain extent. I knew what had to be done as a student and that was to focus on my future and my career . I was doubted and many people didn't have faith in me, I turned it into something positive and proved that anyone is capable of doing anything even if their limits will be tested. Looking back as a senior it helped me throughout the years and I am looking forward to what life holds for me after this chapter

The transition from High School can often times be very frustrating for students. L. Lennie Irvin opened my eyes to one of the bad habits I picked up on in High school. The habit of straying from the topic or theme could cause me to fail not only papers in English but my other courses as well. I personally had a hard time with English my first semester of college. For most students, the transition from middle school to high school is the evolution from childhood to adulthood. In my case, my middle school graduation was a quick transition for another reason. The first few months of my freshman year had my parents rushing my grandfather in and out of the hospital because of his failing heart. By this point my grandfather had battled off colon cancer, 3 heart attacks, and 2 open heart surgeries. At age 74 he was not a candidate for a heart transplant but he was able to get a defibrillator.…

There are many quotes and beliefs in the world that I believe and get motivated. Some quotes are from my parents, other family members, teachers, or friends. The quote that is most important for me is “The big secret in life is that there is no big secret. Whatever your goal, you can get there if you're willing to work,” by Oprah Winfrey, because I have experienced something in life that this quote has made me a different person today. It has been inspiring me to achieve my goals and never give up.…

High school changes people. They express themselves, become opinionated, and they start to look at the world differently as they experience things they have never encountered before. A wise Oliver Wendell Holmes said, “Man’s mind stretched to a new idea never goes back to its original dimensions.” This quote is an excellent way to describe my experience in high school.…

Growing up in Hiram, Georgia, I never imagined myself at a high school in Wisconsin, but, oddly enough, I did always have a feeling I would end up at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Something about the atmosphere of Camp Randall drew me to the television for every Badger game. The red and white sea of people at the stadium would put me in a trance. As I became older and learned more about college, Madison continued to stand out because of its programs, its marching band, and its campus. I’ve always done well in school.…
