Personal Narrative Essay: The Fall Of High School

The Fall In 2010, I was eight years old. I was a dedicated student, and gymnastics was my passion outside of school. I was a good gymnast but my height crippled me more times than one. I was a gymnast that was five feet two inches at eight years old. My practices were long and usually quite rigorous. It was Tuesday evening when I went to my gymnastics studio. Practice was almost over and our last skill was the beam. I was never fond of the balance beam, I would always be too tall to be able to keep my balance. The circuit was to walk to the end of the beam and do a round-off off of the beam with a perfect landing. However, my landing was not so perfect. I completed my round-off but I could not land properly and my food got caught in the metal support beams holding the balance beam up. I said, I could, and I did without anyone noticing the pain I was in. I continued on until the end of practice but when I got home my mother could tell something was wrong. She took me to the doctor the next day to reassure her I did not have a broken foot or a concussion. The doctor told me I probably broke a few toes and a sprained my right ankle. She wanted me to be on crutches because I broke more than one toe and had a sprained ankle. X-rays were taken and I had broken three toes which meant I had to stay off of my foot for a month. My parents let me go to the studio to watch the progress of the other gymnasts, but I decided that I wanted to continue gymnastics in spite of my injury. I continued to practice my routine for the upcoming competition without the knowledge of my parents. I would practice on vault, bars, and the beam. After a week my foot was still swelling and was hurting more as the days went on. The next week, I went to the gymnasium and during conditioning I fell.
