Health Implications Of The Medical Field Essay

Because of my early exposure to health implications faced by a family member I was naturally drawn to the medical field. During my early years of childhood my Mother was diagnosed with lupus, which is a disease where your immune system attacks your own tissues and organs. As I got older my Mothers sickness began to worsen and I started going to countless doctor’s appointments and learned more about insurance and the healthcare field. This is when my passion for healthcare started to form. Helping others is something I always knew I wanted to do, but helping others is a broad job description – an umbrella for the countless ways to make an impact. Healthcare is changing year by year and I believe that every individual should be taken care of at the highest standard for there mental and physical health. This is why it is my ambition to help individuals by successful delivery of health care services.
While prior to completing my undergraduate degree, I planned on being a physical therapist. This was due to my mother having a knee operation and taking her to physical therapy three times a week. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and being exposed to different types of therapy, so I decided to observe different settings. Upon observing different types of therapy, I was fortunate enough to be offered a job as a physical therapist technician at two outpatient clinics.
