Tesla aims to offer four tile styles, though currently only the smooth or textured glass styles are available to consumers (Hope). A Tesla Solar Roof is composed of solar and non-solar tiles, which are sold at different prices (Hope). This theme is exemplified through one of their cold weather insulation products, Cold WX Jacket LT MultiCam Men’s, this heavy duty jacket provides protection in drastically cold temperatures and is offered in the MultiCam pattern for concealment purposes. Overall, apart from solid colors, Arc’teryx LEAF produces products in the MultiCam pattern which is trademarked by Crye Precision (which was originally used by the U.S. army in 2010 while stationed in Afghanistan territory). This is particularly interesting as it explains why products in this pattern are more expensive and further appeals towards their consumer segment. Having said that, in comparison to regular Arc’teryx products, the LEAF line is approximately 30-50% more expensive. With this in mind, it comes to no surprise as the perceived value from the consumer’s perspective lies in the quality, functionality, and durability of the material used for LEAF products.…

P&G brought in Polypropylene to replace Polyethylene for the back sheet from the chemical industry. Two American chemists working for Phillips Petroleum of the Netherlands, Paul Hogan and Robert Banks, invented the material in 1950’s. Polypropylene is similar to its ancestor, polyethylene, and shares polyethylene's low cost, but it is much more robust and can be blow moulded. More importantly, it provides a cloth like look and a softer and natural feel that mothers demanded. It provided the aesthetic look to alleviate mother’s fears of non-natural materials coming in touch with their babies.…

The entire structure is unique and efficient, and an important component of Dorton Arena is the stability of the roof. The objective of this paper is to address the engineering components of Dorton Arena’s roof that bring the structure to equilibrium. The rest of this paper will focus on the roof’s design, use of tension, attention to displacement of steel, use of guy cables, and integration with the rest of the structure to allow Dorton Arena to find stability in a way that was not previously considered.…
