Why are you interested in becoming a SHPEP ambassador?
Before being part of SHPEP Dental Program, I did not have much knowledge on the field of Dentistry. Although I knew that Dentistry was the field that suited me the most, attaining clinical first-hand experience was something that I was missing. Being part of SHPEP allowed me to not only gain the clinical experience I needed to reaffirm my decision of becoming a Dentist, but also enabled me to gain great connection with faculty members and current dental students who gave me the tools I needed to succeed as a pre-dental student. I want to share this experience with others and become part of the SHPEP Program so that it can have a great impact on other pre-dental students like it has had with me.
What inspirational story can you share about shpep to motivate others?

That was an experience that I will never forget, and is something that I know will motivate others because there are so many students who come from low income families or are from a minority group who lack the confidence to know that they are able to accomplish great

If selected for this scholarship, I will represent the Kornberg Dental School at Temple University well both as a dental student and in my professional career as a dentist serving underserved areas. I will commit myself to take full advantage of the opportunity the scholarships will provide me and continue to apply…

While growing up my summers were spent at my aunt’s dental practice, and while I waited for my mother to get out of work I observed, interacted with patients, and assisted both my aunt and grandfather. As I grew so did my curiosity for dentistry; however, it was not until I had a dental emergency that I considered dentistry as a career option.…
