Gun Control Advantages

A news article was just posted online last week, and it talks about a man opened a live on Facebook, and showed how he killed an elder on Easter in Cleveland, Ohio. In this case, the reason of why he killed the elder is only for fun. Nowadays, firearms make the United States to be a special and powerful country in the world. Since most of people owned firearms for many reasons such as to hunt, to protect themselves, and to feel stronger, firearms have been an indispensable part of the United States. However, in recent years, the issue of people carrying guns has become a main problem in the American society. There are so many people were killed by guns in different parts of the United States, and the number of gun shooting events become more and more. There are many of people who agree that guns should be properly controlled. First, appropriate gun control can reduce the rate of murder. Secondary, appropriate gun control can reduce the rate of suicide. Eventually, appropriate gun control can make the school become safer. As soon as the firearms can be properly controlled in the United States, the American society will become more peaceful and less deadly. First of all, appropriate gun control can reduce the rate of murder. There are more and more people die of murder every year in the United States, and most of them were killed by guns. It seem like the criminals prefer to using guns as tool for criminal purpose because guns are very deadly weapon, and it can be used to kill a person in a flash easily. Also, in current society, some families would like to purchase firearms for their security; however, domestic violence becomes very common in the United States in modern society. Some people killed their partner on the spur of the moment. Therefore, to have a stricter gun control is very necessary because it can save more lives. There is a kind of ban called assault weapons ban, it can effectively reduce the number of people who die in gun murder. According to LaRochell, a journalist from Human Events, mentions “President Obama has called upon Congress to enact a ban on so-called ‘assault weapons.’ Such a ban, we are told, will ‘save and protect lives, while reducing crime.’ …… there has been an average of 435 fewer gun murders per year than during the ban. Taking into account increasing population, the annual firearms murder rate has fallen from an average 3.8 gun murders per 100,000 population per year during the ban to 2.6 gun murders per 100,000 population in 2011- a decline of more than 30 percent.”(Human Event).
