Globalization is a term that became widely used to describe the increased movement of people, ideas, goods, and money all over the national border. This has led to the world becoming more connected among the populations economically, politically, socially, and culturally. There are many ongoing discussions about globalization, including its positive and negative aspects. One of the negative aspects of globalization is cultural dimensions. Another negative aspect of globalization is the environmental issues that have rose from the Industrial Revolution. Although there may be negative things about globalization, there are also many positive things that come from it. One positive aspect of globalization is trade. Trade benefits a lot of people along with the many countries that are are involved, including the U.S. Market globalism. This is the ideology that I follow and agree with. It really shows that I agree with market globalism because of my feeling on trade. According to Steger, cultural globalization refers to the intensification and expansion of cultural flows across the globe. I believe that as a whole, we have become more homogenized. A term called ‘Americanization’ has risen from other countries becoming more like America. According to George Ritzer, ‘McDonalization’ is another term to describe the wide ranging sociocultural processes by which the principals of the fast food restaurants have been taking over and dominating more and more.
