Global Warming
In our society today, we are selfish and greedy. We take the things we want no matter the consequences that our actions may have. This is ultimately true in the topic of global warming. Global warming is there. It's presence is undeniable even to the most skeptical people. Countless trials and experiments have proven its existence and it's fatal impact on our world. Even with the vast amount of proof, people still deny that global warming is solely the fault of man. Global warming is not just a random misfortune to our planet; it was created through decades of our ignorance and carelessness. What is it and is it our fault?
The number one reason why people are skeptical about global warming, is because they can not wrap their mind around what it is and what it does to our planet. Global warming is the

Our earth was in complete balance before humans inhabited it. Why would the natural CO2 amounts decide to rapidly rise in the last few decades? That is because they did not. The CO2 levels rose due to human actions. "Though natural amounts of CO2 have varied from 180 to 300 parts per million (ppm), today's CO2 levels are around 400 ppm. That's 40% more than the highest natural levels over the past 800,000 years"(How Are Humans Responsible for Global Warming?). One leading contributor of man is deforestation. Trees absorb CO2 and convert it into oxygen. By cutting down billions of trees, the CO2 is not converted, but added to the already thick blanket on our atmosphere. Also, when a tree is cut down, the CO2 it was storing is released into our air. Nearly 32 million acres of rainforest were cut down each year between 2000-2009 alone. According to EDF, if this amount of deforestation continues to take place, another 200 billion tons of CO2 will be put into the atmosphere in later

Opposing Viewpoints in Context. Web.03 Aug.2015.The atmospheric concentration of greenhouse gases are changing due to human activities. The atmospheric concentrations of greenhouse gases increased because of human activities, primarily due to the combustion of fossil fuels (coal, oil, and gas), deforestation and agricultural practices, since the beginning of the pre industrial era around 1750: carbon dioxide by nearly 30%, methane by more than a factor of two, and nitrous oxide by about 15%. Their concentrations are higher now than at any time during the last 420,000 years, the period for which there are reliable ice core data, and probably significantly longer.…

Alejandro Vieyra Mr. Moody English 4 5 December 2016 Climate Change Must Stop Climate change is the changing of weather patterns in regions all around the world. The primary cause of climate change is the appreciable amount of fossil fuel emissions that humans are sending into the atmosphere. These emissions consist of carbon dioxide that ultimately retain more heat in our atmosphere than needed, thus elevating the temperature everywhere around the globe and damaging ecosystems greatly. Many people, including politicians and scientists, believe that climate change is simply a hoax. Although some prefer to believe that climate change is fake and we have nothing to worry about, there are concrete facts that prove these individuals wrong.…

One of those reasons being that people are simply uninformed. Every time a person turns on a news channel he or she is bombarded with tons of celebrities or people in positions of power blabbering about global warming and what a threat it is to humanity, and instead of doing some research and looking at the real evidence, they simply believe that if it is on the news that is must be true. That is only one explanation as to why the average person might be so hung up on global warming, but there are still other reasons why the president and other political figures in high positions of power are pushing so hard for global warming. One of the reasons could be what was mentioned earlier in this report, what the scientist Hal Lewis said “the government wants to secure millions of dollars in grant money”(“Global Warming”)., or it could be that the government just wants extra control over its people, like what Alex Newman’s article about global warming…

Everyone has heard the term global warming, but how is this major issue being defined? To many people, global warming is defined as the steady rise of the Earth’s temperature from an excess of carbon dioxide being released into the atmosphere. To numberless others, global warming is simply that the climate change and carbon emission has nothing to do with it. While this last definition seems to be the easiest due to being less scary and not having to deal with the problem, it does not mean it is correct. As difficult as it maybe to accept the truth, people are slowly making their own home an oven; therefore, leading to fluctuations in the weather patterns, drastically rising sea levels, the extinction of many species, and an overabundance of…

With that being said I’ll begin by discussing what is causing global warming to take place right before our eyes. Body: I. To put it bluntly, the cause of global warming is human activity, primarily the burning of fossil fuels like oil, coal, and natural gas. a. These are the significant driving factors in global warming. According to Global Warming from Encyclopedia of Global Warming and Climate Change “Many human processes ranging from industry, transportation, power stations, agriculture, fossil fuel development and usage, to residential and commercial activities have variously led to the production of high amounts of greenhouse gases.”…

Global warming is being caused by humans and something should be done about it. The reason global warming is so prevalent is because people do not know they are hurting the environment and some people do not believe it is real. There will be consequences to everyone if nothing is done about it. Around the world, less than half the people in the UK (43 percent), Germany (49 percent), and Norway (34 percent) believe that global warming is caused by civilization (Le Page).…
