According to the American Marketing Association, “marketing is the activity, set of institutions, and processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and society at large” (2016). Most would agree that the job of a marketer is very complex and involves partnering and working with many other divisions within an organization. For this essay the focus is global advertising strategy.
Advertising is a part of the larger marketing scheme and falls into the “4 P’s” of marketing, specifically the promotion portion. Since the entire goal of marketing is to, in the simplest terms, “get the right product in the right place, at the right price, at the right time” (GO2 Advertising, 2016), advertising plays a large role in that. Advertising can be defined as;
The placement of announcements and persuasive messages in time or space purchased in any of the mass media by business firms, nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and individuals who seek to inform and/ or persuade members of a particular target market or audience about their products, services, organizations, or ideas (American Marketing Association, 2016).
Strategy is being able to align the company’s goals of where it wants to be in the future with the marketing plan which can be partially done through advertising. The choices made to get the particular ads in the right space are of high importance. Marketers must take into consideration…
